Virginia Highlands Festival Photography Competition and Lecture Series Schedule of Events

The 2011 Virginia Highlands Festival is pleased to announce its call for entries and the schedule for the 2011 Lecture Series.

The call for entries will be June 25th 2011 starting at 9AM till 3PM at the Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center, Room 103

This Year the Festival is giving away $1000.00 in CASH PRIZES

Thursday July 21st starting at 6PM till 10PM will be a reception and gallery opening of the body of work received by the competition.
This event will be held in The Grand Hall of the Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center in Abingdon VA.
This event is open to the public and all entrants are asked to attend.

Saturday July 23rd starting at 9AM till 1PM will be a lecture with world renowned National Geographic Photographer, Bob Krist, entitled “Behind the Scenes: Real Life Misadventures of a National Geographic Photographer”.
This event will be held in the Grand Hall of the Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center.
Tickets are available online at www.vahighlandsfestival.org.
Nations Photo Lab is providing $25.00 gift cards to all attendees of this lecture.
Tickets are $15.00 and $10.00 for college students
Students must contact Christopher Bradshaw from a school issued email address for the promotional code.

Around the world in 180 minutes with Chris Duncan
This event will be held in the Executive Auditorium of the Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center.

Saturday August 6th starting at 9AM till 1PM
The Parks of The Sierra Nevada Mountains with Richard Siggins
This event will be held in the Executive Auditorium of the Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center.
