Nature Undisturbed 2011 Juror Makes Selections

Susan Todd-Raque, Atlanta based art advisor and consultant specializing in photography, has selected the images for 2011 Nature Undisturbed. The show is growing and receiving many more entries each year. This year 96 photographers representing 10 states submitted 467 photographs for consideration. From this pool, 55 photos were selected. Thirty-six photographers from 7 states are represented in this group.

“This is remarkable,” said show director Donna Rosser, “our first year, 2009, we had only 45 photographers enter. This year 45 photographers from Fayette and Coweta counties entered the show. From Georgia, we had 85 photographers. It is an awesome experience to meet so many photographers who share a passion for nature photography.” Last year residents of Fayette County were the winners in both categories.

Nature Undisturbed showcases the beauty of nature. It also brings awareness to the local conservation group, Southern Conservation Trust. Many people in the area benefit from the work they do. Line Creek, Flat Creek, and Sams Lake nature areas are all maintained by the Trust. This year Nature Undisturbed has added Flint Riverkeepers to the show and the Flint River to the site specific category.

Dogwood Gallery in Tyrone, Georgia will the home of Nature, Undisturbed. “We are looking forward to a great event and an opening reception on April 16 that will be an exceptional art event in Fayette County. Also, our panel discussion scheduled for April 30 is not to be missed. It is humbling to see such rapid growth with the event.” Not only does the show exhibit the great photography but it gives the public a great opportunity to learn about art collecting with an emphasis on photography.
